I've always wanted to go to Vietnam and Cambodia. Who knows why ? Maybe it was all the US history in the movies we saw, maybe it was the pictures of Angkor Vat - Who knows ? All I know is that when Shubs and I decided to go for a quick vacation.. It was one of the easiest choices to make. Our partner in crime during the vacation - Shahana , happened to be at home that weekend while we planned and trust me it didn't take much convincing for her to sign up. After 2 weeks of reading and booking online .. we were on our way.

We took off from Bengaluru not knowing what lay in store for us.. and trust me it started right at Singapore. Being Budget conscious, we decided to fly low cost - Tiger Airways to Singapore and beyond. Reaching Singapore at some 6 am and the connecting at 12 pm - we had a good 6 hours to kill at Changi or so we thought. Turns out that Tiger lands at the Budget Terminal - outside of Changi. So all sleepy and tired from the flight, we are suddenly stopped by immigration - where's your Sinapore visa ?? Basically the Tiger guys said you didn't need one since we were transiting. Turns out they were wrong, and to move from the arrival gate to the departure gate - you need a visa. Who knew ?? So basically after they wanting to deport us back to Bengaluru, and after 4 hours of pleading and crying and what not, the guy finally relented and let us thru with a 24 hour really rare Special Pass.. Shubs apparently didn't need a visa since she has a 10 yr US visa. ARrggh...
